24/7 Youth Film Festival

Make a 7 Minute Film in 24 Hours

Conditions of Entry:

  • All films must be made in the 24hour period as designated by organisers.
  • All films must be no longer than 7 minutes in length, including intro and credits.
  • All films must incorporate at least 1 location, 2 items and 2 phrases from the official items list. 
  • All films must include the secret rule which will be announced at the Competition Weekend.
  • All participants must be aged between 12 and 24 years of age on the day of the competition. This includes every aspect of the competition, including acting/using someone’s voice in the movie, camera work, editing, etc. Please be aware of people in background shots also – i.e children in a public location cannot be present in your film.
  • Team age categories are calculated on all members being on or under the age bracket. (e.g to be eligible for U/18 Category no team member can be over 18 yrs)
  • All participants must agree to and sign the 24/7 Youth Film Festival Indemnity Form. Participants under 18 will need parent / guardian to sign on their behalf.
  • All participants must adhere to the instructions of 24/7 Youth Film Festival Staff.
  • All films must be viewable by a public audience. No inappropriate content should be present, i.e drugs, alcohol, guns, abusive innuendos, cigarettes, violence. The worst case scenario is that the film will be removed from the competition but we do not want this to happen, so please work with us.
  • Due to the variety of ages of people attending the screenings all films must have an M Rating or less. For further details on this check out Australian Bureau of Classification (classification.gov.au)
  • Teams are not to partake in dangerous, offensive, unlawful and/or irresponsible stunts or locations. Doing so will result in disqualification from the competition. Your safety during the 24/7 Youth Film Festival is our number one priority.
  • You must have permission to use music in your film. There are a number of free copyright music websites you can access. Please acknowledge music source in film credits.
  • Filmmakers must have permission of all actors/extras featuring in the film.
  • Only entered team members can be directly involved in the making of your film.
  • By entering a film in 24/7 you are giving permission for your work to feature in any way, shape or form as part of any 24/7 related and/or other event in its entirety or in edited format.
  • Films are permitted to use superimposed text and animation.
  • The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Please do not use toy/replica guns for filming.
  • ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE FUN IN THE MAKING OF THEIR FILM!
